Judges Notes on the contest
With a substantial load of beautiful stories of various different yet equally good levels to read through, it was again a tough task to rate, rank and choose one story as the winner for the Editors Choice Award. With each passing contest, the quality of the submissions are rising up significantly and are a testimony to the quality of the readership The Galpa is attracting. That said, The Pianist, by Snigdha Agrawal, is a short story inspired by the current crisis in Ukraine, and is a masterfully written account of the painful repercussions felt by a desolate piano teacher.

Reader's Choice Award - $50
Award Methodology : Amongst the winning stories of the Galpa Collective Awards -7, the story that gets the maximum comments by users on our website, before 12 pm , 1st April, 2022 will receive the Reader's Choice Award. The result of the Reader's Choice Award will be announced here on 1st April, 2022. This is applicable to all stories except the story that wins the Editor's Choice Award.
